About Me
I’m Gabriella Brédáné Kis, a licensed Hungarian Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, providing individual and couple therapy in my private practice in Budapest and on the Balaton-Felvidék.
I offer confidential, professional psychological counselling in English and Hungarian, supporting clients through personal, relational, and cross-cultural challenges.
Education and Training
I hold a Master’s Degree in Health and Clinical Psychology from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest.
Over the years I have received advanced postgraduate training in:
- Short-Term Dynamic Therapy
- Group Analysis
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- Systems-Centered Therapy (USA)
- Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT)
My therapeutic background combines depth-oriented, experiential, and relational approaches, allowing me to tailor each session to the person in front of me.
Experience and Professional Background
With over 27 years of clinical experience, I have worked in various mental-health settings, including inpatient psychiatry, child guidance, and sociotherapy, as well as private practice since 2005.
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist – Hungarian Licence No. M/00684/2005
- Registered on the official List of Hungarian Psychotherapists
Having spent two years in the USA and Italy, I understand first-hand what it means to adapt to new cultures and languages. This international perspective has shaped my sensitivity to the emotional experiences of expats and multicultural clients.
Therapeutic Approach and Philosophy
“I strive to create a safe, comfortable emotional space where clients feel open to explore their thoughts, dilemmas, and feelings.”
My approach is systemic, integrative and relational.
I believe psychological health includes emotional, physical, and spiritual integrity, grounded in healthy relationships.
Therapy with me focuses on:
- Improving emotional well-being
- Deepening self-understanding
- Finding strength to face challenges
- Gaining insight into life experiences
- Enhancing connection in relationships
I view therapy as a collaborative journey, where insight and change grow naturally from trust and genuine dialogue.
